SL Fiji unveils two new prints

February 23, 2023, Suva, FIJI -    Samson Lee Fiji unveiled two prints at the PIFS Special Leaders Retreat to mark their theme of "Reflection, Renewal, Celebration"

"I am honoured to be engaged by Pacific Island Forum Secretariat to mark a milestone moment in regionalism focusing on their theme of “Reflection, Renewal, Celebration” added Lee.

The two prints 'Renewal' and 'Celebration' tell the story of Pacific values.

"The 'Renewal' print  looks at the milestone of the return of Kiribati to the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, our Pasifika family, the arrows symbolise the future, moving forward as a united Pacific region and the imprints are of a typical Kiribati mat a nod to their culture and identity and shades of blue is our Pacific ocean and the importance of the PIFS 'Blue Pacific' plan" said Lee.

The 'Celebration' print takes inspiration from Fijians joy of celebrations.

"The word 'soqo' in the Fijian language means to gather to mark an occasion, the 'Celebration' print is a contemporary take of Fiji's classic masi motifs. Our colour palette celebrates the vibrant colours of the Pacific from our sunsets to our lush environment" added Lee.

The Fijian masi motifs also signify the handover of the PIF Chair from Fiji to the Cook Islands signifying the transition of solidarity in our shared Pacific leadership.

Lee also acknowledges the Pacific women leaders that wore SL Fiji during the week including NZ Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Sepuloni, NZ High Commissioner Charlotte Darlow and Minister of Women and Poverty Alleviation Lynda Tabuya.
